Born and raised at the height of Black Codes, Jim and Jane Crow and the kidnapping, torture and slaining of Emmit Till, 17 year old Ruby Sales, a student at Tuskegee University, joined the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and actively participated in the Selma to a Montgomery marches and served as a voter registration organizer. Still active today, Ruby Sales is a force, a wonder of the world who continues to educate, strategize and fight against racism and oppression.
